1390 The Fan Sports News

The Minnesota Wild would like to have the Marion Gaborik contract situation cleared up prior to the season beginning.  Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough says is would be "prudent" to sign Gaborik before the regular season starts.  Risebrough says they haven't made an offer yet and Gaborik's agent, Ron Salcer, said Monday he wouldn't speculate on his client's wishes.  If the Wild cannot sign Gaborik to a longterm contract it is believed that Minnesota may look to trade him.
