1390 The Fan Sports News


The Minnesota Wild defeated Columbus 3-2 in an overtime shootout Saturday night.  Minnesota took a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period on a goal from Eric Reitz.  Benoit Pouliot scored the first goal for the Wild.  Minnesota won 2-0 in the shootout with goals from Marek Zidlicky and Antti Miettinen.  Niklas Backstrom had 24 saves and Minnesota outshot Columbus 30-26.  Minnesota was 1-3 on the power play.  The Wild improve to 10-4-1 on the season and will play at Pittsburgh Tuesday at 6pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 5:35.
